Ty Gulley was rushed to the hospital after being involved in the accident right before his one-year wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 3, according to the fundraiser.
Gulley has been employed as an officer with the Baltimore County Police Department for just over two years, and is currently assigned to the Pikesville Precinct.
Doctors reportedly say that Gulley has a "long road to recovery" after suffering significant injuries. Due to the nature of the accident, the GoFundMe was created to help support Gulley and his wife with medical and financial expenses.
So far, the Baltimore County community has stepped up in a big way, raising over $16,000 for the couple to help support them in the aftermath of the tragic accident.
